Of course you can expect me being of same believe. But this time around, we are not here to hear it from me, why porn is good for us, but to hear it from Casey Calvert herself. Casey is well known for being a brainy pornstar and when The Economist held a “Can porn be good for us?” debate, she didn’t miss the opportunity and participated.

Here’s an excerpt from her entry.
Firstly, it should not influence your view on pornography, if you think that adult performer commits a sin when he/she goes to work. Casey states that she is allowed to do what she does in America. It’s the law. This said, she can freely have sex with many partners, record it and entertain people around the globe with her videos.

Secondly, Casey Calvert believes porn can be good for us, for individuals and society. “Porn has long offered a glimpse of the future. Porn accepts everyone. There is content for everyone.” With this in mind, porn is for everyone who wants something different. Herself being a fetish model and porn star, Casey adds that fetishists can easily find like-minded people. “They aren’t alone. Isolation is a terrible feeling, and for so many people pornography is the cure.” According to Casey Calvert, pornography is also good for those people who will never find a partner.

Thirdly, she believes, since every society benefits from an emotionally, financially and mentally healthy population, porn can help with all these things as well. “I believe that if we could be as open-minded as pornography is, we would live in a more benevolent world.”

“Porn is commerce.”- Casey Calvert

Fourthly, porn is commerce. In other words, porn is not all about sex, it creates jobs as well. The whole adult entertainment business is not only about actors, it’s also about directors, producers, grips, gaffers, caterers. All these people can make money and bring bread to the table.
Fifthly, porn is like bible. “You can find something there to support any argument,” says Casey Calvert.
Lastly, there is no real reason why does pleasure need to be considered a bad thing. We are in the year 2015 and, “It’s time to stop shaming people for being sexual.”
