I am a strong believer that robots are coming. I don’t mean some super next level C-3PO and R2-D2 kind of stuff, but actual human robots. Made of flesh, having warm touch and salivating when seeing tasteful food.
Creator of RealDoll, Matt McMullen, is investing a lot of his energy, time and money to bringing a human robot to life. Not just any human robot, he is focusing himself and his team to sex robots. The kind you could talk to them, develop feelings for them and of course fuck them. Matt already has a successful business making $5,000+ sex dolls that look pretty real (they even have an Asa Akira version!). Over the span of RealDoll’s existence he sold more then five thousands sex dolls and now, he wants to bring things a step further. McMullen’s new project, Realbotix, is the first step to bringing sex robots to life. Yes, there will actually be life in these dolls – in form of artificial intelligence.
“Matt McMullen and his team are working on adding robotics, artificial intelligence and virtual reality to RealDoll. The goal is to create a genuine bond between man and machine.”
In the short documentary above, Matt said that they would need to be careful with the artificial intelligence. The reason is, you could get your doll confused and a confused doll can start talking nonsense. That could ruin your mood and eventually you will not want to go to the bedroom. You’ll think, “Gush, my doll is dumb.”
What confuses me is the following: At one point Matt is saying that he wants to have all these sex robots to look as dolls and does not want to have them looking as a detailed copy of a real human being. On the other hand, he wants people to actually develop emotional attachment to not only the doll being a robot, but character behind it. Wouldn’t it be easier for a person to get emotional with his sex robot if it would look like an actual human being? Maybe my mind is slow, but this just does not make any sense to me. Having a super realistic moving doll is the uncanny valley for Matt, so he wants to keep his Realbotix sex robots away for supreme realism.
The first future plan for McMullen and company is to have Realbotix heads available in about two years and will cost approximately $10,000. These heads will simply be attached to existing RealDoll body. The second plan is to start making full sex robots. No informations when these will be available, but they will sell for somewhere between $30,000 and $60,000. Damn son, this is like buying a proper car. Sorry, but I’d definitely go and invest in a car.

Question: Who in the world would pay $60,000 for sex robots?

Here are a few comments about these (crazy) sex robots, that will go by the Name Realbotix, from the web:
– “What a perfect woman. But I would rather have the silent model.”
– “I’m all for better AI, but this is just sad.”
– “W T F !”
– “This man is a hero.”
– “Please, I’d rather have genetically modified cloned girlfriend.”
