Your selfies suck unless they are naked selfies like Milo Moiré’s!
Swiss born artist and model, Milo Moiré, is known by her, sometimes quite bizarre, nude appearances/performances. You probably remember the “A Birth Of A Picture” aka “The PlopEgg Painting Performance,” don’t you? The time she inserted in her pussy eggs filled with paint and plopped them on canvas. Voila, you have art.
Since being very young, Milo was always inspired by misfits and different, out of the box, people. Growing up, she became one of them with, “They can take my body captive, but my spirit remains free,” thinking. That’s part of her statement after she came from Paris prison. For your information: She got arrested for taking selfies all nude in front of Eiffel Tower.
This time around she brings you “Naked Selfies.” She visited three European cities, Düsseldorf (where she also lives and works), Basel and Paris. At a very crowded spot she set up remote controlled camera, went fully nude and waited for random strangers to take selfies with her. You can guess the result. Yes, people went crazy, taking pictures with Moiré. Who wouldn’t? She owns one mind blowing body, of course both men and women start going mental to be with her in front of the camera lens. After her arrest in Paris, rebellious Milo Moiré also said, “Freedom is the greatest good in our society.” Followed by, “I will continue and will carry out the ‘Naked Selfies’ performance in other countries.” That’s the spirit!
With this (never-ending) project, Milo wants to thematize and caricature the social media madness of taking self portraits aka selfies. Yes, it’s annoying and normally all selfies are boring and suck. Not to mention, taking selfies is more dangerous than sharks. Let Milo Moiré’s project be a great example how you can spice things up, or even better, help Moiré spread the #NakedSelfies spirit around the globe.
