Raise awareness for safe sex by using condom emoji when sexting.

According to Oxford, emoji is the 2015 “word” of the year and with a recent Durex campaign for #CondomEmoji, emojis are really starting to take over the world.
I am a little late on this one but better late than never, they say. MTV Staying Alive released SafeSext Keyboard just before December 1st, World’s AIDS Day, as an encouragement for people to start making sexting foreplay a threesome. Meaning, adding eggplant and peach emoji a condom emoji. With other words, to raise awareness for safe sex even when sexting. To make people hyped for their condom-ish keyboard, they made this, pardon my French, weird ass yet hilarious campaign. It’s also a bit creepy, however, don’t get me wrong, I do like it.

With numerous silly and stupid (why the fuck do I need a vase emoji for?) emojis available, not having an official condom emoji is outrageous. I never was and I still am not the biggest fan of emojis and would be able to survive without them but come on, Durex made a cute example how the #CondomEmoji should look like. There’s more than half the work done already, now only make it live and let kill the awkwardness people face with when talking about safe sex. As the official statement of MTV’s SafeSex Keyboard goes, “Now you can bring up condoms without bringing down the mood.” Not to mention, “safe sex” and “condom” are long words and replacing them with a simple condom emoji would be a wise alternative, especially when you are in a hurry. Seconds matter!
Durex’s campaign is still running and if you haven’t participated yet, simply use hash tag #CondomEmoji as much as possible. Until the official safe sex emoji gets (if) released, download yourself the safe sex keyboard and start having some fun with it.
